About me
Mahbubul Alam is an international entrepreneur, technology, and business executive with broad management experience. He is a frequent author, speaker, and multiple patent holder. Mahbubul has a history of fearless transformation informed by groundbreaking technologies to improve business outcomes by maintaining a startup culture with rapid organizational growth and focus on corporate goals and objectives. He is currently driving the evolution of tomorrow’s agricultural technologies such as autonomous unmanned vehicles and robotics for automated farming as the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer of Dimaag-AI, Inc.
In early 2015 Mahbubul was brought to Movimento Group as the Chief Technology & Marketing Officer to reinvent technology and strategy, leading a transformative era in which Movimento with its Software Defined Car Platform helped shepherd the auto industry through the biggest changes since Henry Ford’s days. In January 2017, Movimento Group got acquired by Aptiv PLC (formerly known as Delphi Automotive PLC). Before joining Movimento, he was an insightful leader and internal startup creator at network leader Cisco. He is the recipient of the ‘2016 Bay Area CIO of the Year award finalist honored by the Silicon Valley Business Journal and the San Francisco Business Times.
Career
Mahbubul started working as a research student in mobile 3G technology with Nokia in Finland in 1997-1998 way back before we all had mobile phones. He led a team that architected the Pan-European ATM network and packet core networks for GSM for Railways (GSM-R). Mahbubul has spent 14 productive years as a groundbreaking technologist and strategist at Cisco on two continents. Later, he started working in a variety of business development and market intelligence capacities in Cisco’s Netherlands operations. Having developed a solid name in the company for far-sighted, winning strategies, he was brought to Silicon Valley in 2006 building up a product line with multimillion-dollar yearly revenue. From 2012 to 2015 he headed Cisco’s Internet-of-Things (IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) platforms.
Early Life
Mahbubul was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and lived in Dubai, UAE but moved to the Netherlands after receiving a scholarship to attend a prestigious boarding high school. Later, he was awarded a degree in electrical & electronic engineering from the Netherlands-renowned Delft University of Technology, with a focus on personal mobile and radar communications.
